DIFTG (known as Do It For The Grain) hosted its 7th anniversary finissage at Irene’s Pub on November 2, 2026. DIFTG is an Ottawa group that focuses on analog photography.
Analog photography has been on a comeback because people are missing the physical and tactile feel of photography.
Any cameras whether it’s film rolls and instant film are what brings this group together in Ottawa. It can for art and for the enjoyment of taking a photo.
Their 7th anniversary was focused on a theme called Development. It meant that Ottawa photographers had to reflect how they grew and change within the community.
It was a last minute rush going there and it was an opportunity to shoot some video because of wanting to try out the step printing effect. Yes, blame it on Hong Kong (feat. 王菲季候風) by The Weeknd.
Overall, it was a great time at Irene’s Pub and good to see some people, new and old there.
