Time for Winter, Time for a New Parka – S12E05

The Signature Parka
It was a week after Black Friday and being a Hudson’s Bay fanatic, they had a one day sale for the Hudson’s Bay Collection products. This particular jacket caught my interest and it has been released since September. Just in time for Winter, it’s the Hudson’s Bay Collection Signature Parka.

Regular price at $499 (Canadian), on that Friday (December 2nd), it was on sale for $299. I couldn’t pass up on the deal since I was in need of a new winter jacket. The previous winter jacket has shown some wear and tear. There’s no to continue wearing it for Winter 2016 and 2017.

The HBC Signature Parka looks very stylish with the famous multistripes. There’s several pockets and two drawcords for the hood and waist. The fur from the hood is coyote. It’s puffy throughout the jacket but more noticeable in the bottom. I have worn it inside the house and it got pretty warm.

I can’t wait to wear it outside as Ottawa got some snow and hope to keep it in good care and have it last for years to come.

Ottawa = Winterfell – S08E28

We know, we know – there are enough jokes out there about Snowmageddon and Snowpocalypse and …Winterfell.

But seriously, this snow though…It would give even the Night’s Watch a run for its money.

Still, we did our darnedest to pull together a good show yesterday. This post is a little delayed, since Lenny and I were stuck shovelling our driveways all afternoon, but here it is – our recap of this week’s edition of WildWorks.

Some pretty exciting news to start things off – The RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest lineup was announced yesterday, and we were reaaaal keen when we saw some of our favourites on the list. Big acts include Björk, BB King, the Dixie Chicks, Rush and Wu-Tang Clan. Personally I’m excited to see Passion Pit, Mother Mother, Zeds Dead, Camera Obscura and Bahamas.

I Do Not Care For The Winter Sun & It’s Chinese New Year Time – S06E21

Taken from the Beach House holiday song, it was “snowmageddon” in Ottawa and including Toronto and Montreal. Although, I got to CKCU-FM with no delays. The snowstorm did not seem too bad when I left the house this morning.
Today’s radio show started off with “Snowed In” by Joel Plaskett as the intro as people in Ottawa were trying to get through the snow. The show was more on Chinese New Year as it celebrates the year of the rabbit. In fitting fashion, various Chinese New Years songs were play in the second hour of the show.
I am excited to have some lion dance on the start of Chinese New Year as it’s become a yearly tradition performing at places and keeping the people happy and prosperous.
If you want to check what was played on the show, the playlist is at this link.

Gong Hey Fatt Choy everyone!

Feb. 9th Update
I added the radio show stream and The Wild 10 Countdown continues on for the blog. The second hour of the show consisted of love songs for Valentine’s Day coming up. Still continuing with Chinese New Year as the seventh day is everyone’s birthday.
The link to check the February 9th edition of The Wild 10 Countdown is at this link. In keeping the slight reference to Beach House, the February 9th show had a song by Beach House. It is linked to the 2nd annual Valentine’s Day show.
