Breezing Through 90 Minutes at Hong Kong Palace Museum – S16E12
Another museum in the West Kowloon Cultural District has garnered attention since it opened on July 3, 2022. It’s the Hong Kong Palace Museum.
The Hong Kong Palace Museum houses and displays artifacts from the Palace Museum in Beijing, China. Artifacts and priceless treasures of over 900 are shown to the public for the first time in Hong Kong.
The exterior and interior of the museum looks amazing and the design is something to marvel at. The museum also faces the scenic view of Hong Kong’s island side.
I did not go to the special exhibition as it costs extra to enter. I had to breeze through 90 minutes at the museum because my relatives booked lunch at The Royal Garden at East Tsim Sha Tsui.
The museum reminded me of The Canadian Museum of History but it’s mostly on China’s history and all of the materials were from the Forbidden City in China. One painting intrigued me was from Italian Jesuit painter, Giuseppe Castiglione.
The Hong Kong Palace Museum is worth going to when you go to Hong Kong. The admission price is $50 HK Dollar but it’s best to book online. There is also free admission on Wednesdays but it’s recommended to book online way in advanced.
Since it’s a very new museum, expect lineups to getting to entrance. As experienced when arriving in the morning, there was a lineup before getting in.
Posted below are photos from the museum and it’s a lot shown. Hope you will enjoy how the museum looked.
