A lot has changed when I last went to see Big Buddha at Lantau Island In Hong Kong.

Went with one of the relatives and mom by taking the subway all the way to Tung Chung and then take Ngong Ping 360, which the cable car to Big Buddha and the village around it.

The gondola ride took under 30 mins to get to Big Buddha and the village. The ride provided a gorgeous 360° view of Hong Kong. There’s also a view of the Hong Kong Macau tunnel bridge.

When arriving to Ngong Ping Village, what surprised me was that it’s an attraction area. I didn’t expect to see Subway and Starbucks there. Not a lot of shops were opened because it was on a weekday and the continuing pandemic restrictions.

Upon getting to Big Buddha, disappointment set in as the steps to go up the giant statue were closed off. The stairs were being repaired and renovated. I wasn’t able to get a good photo of Big Buddha.

Overall, I had a good time going to Ngong Ping Village and enjoying the cable car ride while being stunned with the scenery of Hong Kong island.

Posted below are photos and video of the area.
