After meeting up with Alyson Hau, I decided to go to Tsim Sha Tsui East to check out the Hong Kong Museum of History.

Not to be confused with the Hong Kong Palace Museum, this museum has been around since 1975. This museum shows more of a history and cultural heritage of Hong Kong.

What surprised me was the admission to enter the museum is free. 

The collections shown at the Hong Kong Museum of History show a vast history of Hong Kong from pre-Colonial times to British Colonial occupation to Hong Kong as a Special Administrative Region.

Before entering the exhibition gallery, there’s a section of a black & white art of classic Hong Kong. It looked very nostalgia and in awe of how it looked.

There were collections of what Hong Kong was like in the past before it became an Asian economic powerhouse. An example of objects in Hong Kong like the mailbox in Colonial times no longer exists.

The museum was definitely worth checking in and it doesn’t take too long to be there. An hour browsing the displays and collections were sufficient. With all of the museums in Hong Kong, it is bilingual with Chinese and English.
