One of the famous attractions in Hong Kong which reopened in late August is the Peak Tram. I had the opportunity to go there days after it reopened.

The Peak Tram was closed for over a year due to renovations and replacing the tram cars. The Peak Tram is located in Central, Hong Kong.

Getting to the Peak Tram was quite a trek because I was only relying on the MTR (subway) and didn’t think much on the bus routes. Upon entering the Central Terminus, there are 5 displays while waiting in line to get on the tram, they are Eye of Infinity, The Beating Heart, An Icon is Born, Once Upon a Tram, and Go Wild at the Peak.

When getting on the new tram, it looked very clean and state of the art. The last time I went, it was rustic and classic looking. It’s good to see the updates to the tram. 

Getting to the top of the tram is the Peak. It’s where the Peak Tower is located. There are various attractions on top. I went to Sky Terrace 428, which is the highest viewing area in Hong Kong. A full 360° view of all of Hong Kong. It was pretty hot and smoggy that day, it was tough to get a good shot of it.

Due to the pandemic restrictions, not a lot were opened inside the Peak Tower and I went on a weekday. Only the restaurants were opened for dine in and have to use the LeaveHomeSafe app.

Across from the Peak Tower was a shopping destination where there are eateries and retail stores to check out.

My experience going to the Peak was different than the last time I went as there’s more retail stores in the area. Getting a great view of Hong Kong was fun to take photos. The improvements to the tram cars were excellent and nice to ride in a diagonal way.
